REINDEER

The Reindeer Energy power plant is planned to be built in the center of Israel, in the jurisdiction of the South Sharon Regional Council. The plant is expected to operate using natural gas as primary fuel. The zoning plan for the power plant (National Infrastructure Plan (NIP) 91) has received final governmental approval during August 2025, after receiving the prior  approval for the zoning plan by the National Infrastructure Committee (VATAL). The Reindeer power plant is being developed as a large scale, high efficiency, Best Available Technology, combined-cycle configuration.
